2022-2023 Fair Contract Campaign
The UFT has been involved in contract negotiations with New York City since September 2022.
Throughout the negotiations process, the UFT wanted to get its members informed and involved.
There were three major events that I created graphics for. It was important to make sure that
these events tied into the overarching campaign.
Teach-In
I created the graphics for the Teach-In event. This citywide event involved empowering members to teach their colleagues about the negotiation process and what they can do to get their voices heard. Since the UFT wanted members to run Teach-Ins at their school, we had to provide them with a lesson plan and assets to make sure the message was consistent everywhere.
I designed a PowerPoint presentation, posters and social media graphics to highlight the union's past and information about negotiations. I wanted these graphics to be bold and eye-catching whether you were seeing it on a screen or in the school. Because the printed materials were going to also be printed by members who may not have access to a color printer, I made sure anything printed would still be legible and eye-catching if it was printed in black and white.

Grade-In
The second major event for the UFT's Fair Contract Campaign was the Grade-In. This event was to showcase the amount of time teachers spent doing grading/paperwork by having teachers gather in public places and do their work. In the initial planning of the event, we realized that a lot of people did not know what a Grade-In was. In response to that realization, we focused our social media outreach on explaining what this event is.
I designed the social media graphics, keeping in mind the bold colors and designs for the Teach-In, since these events are all a part of the Fair Contract Campaign.

Contract Rally
The past two events all culminated to the Contract Rally, the last big event of the school year. The rally was held at the same time across all five boroughs. I designed the social media graphics, save the date flier and placards that people carried at the rally.
